Mossley Mill Chimney Restoration

The chimney was constructed circa 1800 and is formed in red brick with a combination of lime and cement mortars. The overall width of the chimney is 5.4m at the base and tapers to 2.66m at the top. The chimney is an octagon shape on plan and is approximately 45m tall externally. The refurbishment of the chimney required crack repair and replacement compression bands to reinstate the structural integrity of this historic monument.
